I also talked to high school students. They were shy and quiet and well behaved.? They almost made me wonder? are these really kids?? They are taught to not question authority.? They are taught obedience and respect for whoever is teaching.? They are taught that if they disagree, it would be rude to share an opposing opinion.? So for the most part, they were silent.? Maybe we could use a little Malaysian influence in the US!? 
I did get smiles and acknowledgement that they knew exactly what I was talking about when I suggested that they just collect ?friends? for sport and that they post Facebook updates without thinking of the consequences.? And I really believe I was able to explain healthier ways to use social media in ways that resonated with them and made them think.? I even got some of them to loosen up and joke a bit.? When I did, it was nice to see a little laughter and playfulness in them.? They are kids, after all.
